Roadrunner Rundown Welcome Back!

Roadrunner Families,

It has been great to see everyone as students returned to school this week. We have all been excited to welcome students who were learning virtually last semester as well as some new additions to our school. We have worked diligently to minimize any potential for the spread of the highly transmissible Omicron variant. The official notifications that are generated by AISD have experienced a delay, but as of Friday afternoon, we have only had two positive cases on campus. The families of all close contacts have been notified and we will continue to prioritize the notification of caregivers as quickly as possible. Please remember that properly fitting masks are required for everyone on school grounds. At this time, AISD is recommending double masking whenever possible and we encourage all families to send their students with an N95 to best assist in limiting potential transmission. More information can be found here: https://www.austinisd.org/student-health/covid-19/omicron We have included a helpful flowchart that outlines the latest protocols for when students or staff test positive for COVID-19 as well as those considered close contacts.

This week has been a challenging one as we have faced staffing shortages similar to other AISD campuses. We are working with all available substitutes and appreciate everyone’s patience as we work to provide the best possible educational experiences for our Roadrunners.

Have a wonderful weekend,
