Lee Olympics is Lee Elementary’s annual track and field day. It is an opportunity for our roadrunners to enjoy a day of physical activity cheered on by class and family.
Festivities begin with a traditional opening ceremony for all students and torch relay completed by 6th graders.
Students compete by grade level in a selection of traditional olympic events (such as long jump, long and short distance runs, and hurdles) and non-traditional events (such as hula hoop, bean bag toss, 3-legged race, sack race, and obstacle course). Grades K-2 participate in athletic activities in the morning; grades 3-6 compete in the afternoon. All participants are awarded ribbons for competing.
Between events our young competitors enjoy snow cones and concessions at a volunteer run snack table.
The event culminates in a grade level relay open to all students.
